YDCCSC EVENTS

Rollerski practice sessions generally take place on Spen Valley Greenway, Cleakheaton. The meeting point is where the Greenway goes over Whitechapel Road. Free teaching and coaching is available in both classic and skating techniques. New learners are most welcome. If this is your first time with the club and/ or you need to borrow club equipment, please phone Martin Appleby in advance (see contacts page). Rollerski practice is on every Thursday evening during the summer. Last date 29 August due to failing light. Coaching should be available most weeks but there may be some weeks when it will be just free skiing.

Rollerski "tours" are a fun day out. Think day out on a bicycle in pleasant company on a cycleway or very quiet roads somewhere nice - but on rollerskis! They are non-competitive! No-one gets left behind. If you need a rest, the leader will ensure that you get one if you make them aware. For more detail on tours that interest you please feel free to discuss this with Martin Appleby or Helen Bell (see contacts page). Members of the other clubs and associated cyclists are most welcome on our tours. Please contact the organiser if you are coming along.

On-snow skiing. If we have any snow in winter, outings will be arranged at short notice depending on when and where the snow falls, so keep in touch via Martin Appleby or other committee member. Ski Hire. The club has purchased several pairs of new no wax skis, which are available for hire to members. In addition, due to the generosity of various people, we also have three pairs of metal edged waxable touring skis and leather boots which are also available for hire.

EQUIPMENT HIRE: Both on snow and rollerskis can be hired from the club at a very reasonable price. £3 per session. £8 per weekend. Contact Martin Appleby.

We hope you will enjoy as many events as possible, including the walks, cycle rides, canoeing etc. And if that's not enough, we're always open to suggestions. Please note that some events may be re-arranged if the circumstances warrant it.
